HRX 2018 Countdown: One-on-One with LeTigress and Potpie

With the Hand of the God’s Founder’s Tournament right around the corner, we thought it was about time you got to know we thought it was about time you got to know each of the 8 players who have qualified for the tournament at this year’s Hi-Rez Expo. Today’s featured contender is Dekel “Potpie” Starr. Watch the video below to hear from the man himself.

Potpie may have been born in the United States, but for now he resides in Israel. You can date his HotG experience all the way back to the Closed Alpha days, and ever since his love for Hi-Rez Studios, laptop compatibility, and his genuine enjoyment of the game has kept him around.

Like Swidz, Potpie qualified to HRX though a LAN event. He approved of the Dreamhack Valencia meta and had no issue reaping the rewards. The consistency of midrange decks find his favor, so it’s no surprise that Roman is his preferred pantheon.

Potpie has an understanding of Hand of the Gods that goes beyond tactics. He realizes the difficulty of naming “top players” since a shift in meta means a shift in that very list. However, this didn’t stop him from naming Meziljie and Unscathed as two players to look out for at HRX — mostly thanks to their innovation and adaptability on the battlefield. We’ll see if Potpie’s #1 seed status is enough to get him through those formidable foes and push him on to victory.

During Hi-Rez Expo from January 4 – 7, Potpie and 15 additional competitors will fight for a $50,000 prize pool and the first Hand of the Gods World Championship title. If you’re attending HRX and want a shot at taking some of that prizing for yourself, you can sign up for the Hand of the Gods open bracket to fight for one of the 8 open slots to join the other qualified players in the Founder’s Tournament. If you’re staying home, you can tune in to the action via the official HotG Twitch channel to see how these matches play out and earn some sweet loot drops in the process.

See you then, my tactical geniuses!
